Haneyya legal advisor: Gov't collecting evidence on Israeli war crimes

GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Mohammed Abed, the legal advisor to PA premier Ismail Haneyya, has underlined that the Palestinian government was collecting evidence on Israeli war crimes in Gaza in preparation for putting those responsible on trial.

Abed in statement to the PIC on Sunday said that files containing strong evidence against those Israeli war criminals should be prepared in order to be tabled with international arbitration courts.

He elaborated on some of those crimes such as Israel's targeting of civilians in the war on Gaza and the deliberate intention to kill the biggest possible number of Palestinians, noting that 1,400 Palestinians were killed during the three-week war while 5,400 others were wounded mostly unarmed civilians.

He added that Israeli occupation forces completely destroyed 5,000 homes and partially destroyed 20,000 others in addition to shelling pubic and private property and targeting the infrastructure and cultivated lands.

The legal advisor said that more than 100 mosques were targeted along with the water wells, telephone networks, and medical teams other than the closure of crossings before food and medical supplies to the besieged Gaza Strip.
